6 Cleaning and storage
You agree to follow this advice on cleaning and storage of the products. Failure to do so will render product warranties void:
- If you use your protective glasses on a rainy day, dry them carefully before putting them back in the case. Detach the eye cup and leave it exposed to the air to dry. This should be indoors in a warm environment, but do not place the eye cup or frame on or near a radiator.
- Use a clean microfibre cloth to clean the lenses (the bag supplied with the glasses is intended to be used).
- Use little or no water to clean the lenses - simply rub gently when dry to remove dust or smears.
- Do not use lens cleaners / cleaning chemicals as they damage the anti-fog coating on lenses and have a corrosive effect on metal parts such as hinges and magnets.
- When cleaning eye cups / gaskets, wipe with a clean, damp cloth and then dry before storage or use. Do not immerse the eye cup or gasket in water as this will cause them to deteriorate.
- Make sure that all parts including the eye cup are dry before storing the glasses.
- If any fluids such as eye drops or lens cleaning chemicals drip onto the frame or the Ziena silicone eye cup, wipe them off to avoid possible corrosive damage to metal parts such as hinges or magnets.
- Always store the glasses in the case when not in use, away from direct heat sources.
- Do not store light-reactive lenses in a sunny place (eg in a car or near a window) as this damages their photochromic properties.
7 Use of eye drops
If you apply eye drops immediately before wearing the glasses, it may result in excessive lens misting. When your eyes are full of moisture, this also tends to spatter the inside of the lenses when you blink.
Wearing moisture chamber glasses should reduce your reliance on eye drops, but if application of eye drops is required, and you don't want your lenses to mist up, we recommend you wait 5 minutes before wearing your glasses.
If you have severely dry eyes, you may want to maximise your tear moisture by wearing the glasses straight after putting in eye drops. The moisture chamber glasses will conserve the moisture and prolong the relief but the lenses will be more prone to misting. It is best to experiment to see what works best for you.
8 Warranty on products
- 7eye, Ziena Eyewear, and Visionaries provide a manufacturer’s warranty on their products for 1 year from the date of purchase. Lenses are not warranted against scratches.
- The warranty only covers product defects, not wear and tear through normal use and to ensure warranty cover, you must use and maintain the glasses in accordance with our guidelines stated on this page.
- Removable eye cups / gaskets will need to be replaced at intervals and are not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
- If a fault of any kind develops with the eyewear or lenses within this time, DO NOT attempt to repair it yourself. For safety reasons, do not use the eyewear again and inform us without delay so that a replacement part or product can be provided. Any attempt to repair eyewear yourself will nullify the manufacturer’s warranty.
9 If you are having prescription lenses fitted
We do not warrant that your prescription can be accommodated in the products displayed in our store. Eyewear Accessories Ltd can only supply the frames as advertised on our website. If you choose to have prescription lenses fitted to these frames, it is at your own risk.
You must get advice on whether your prescription can be accommodated from your optician or from your chosen optical reglazing company BEFORE placing your order for frames from us.
Once the frames have been passed to an optician or optical reglazing service, Eyewear Accessories Ltd can take no further responsibility for the frames. We can only provide a refund on frames returned to us prior to being modified by having prescription lenses fitted. See our returns/refunds policy.
If you have any issues with the quality or accuracy of the prescription lenses once fitted, or if the glasses frame or accessories have been damaged when in the care of the company who has fitted the prescription lenses, it is the responsibility of that company to resolve the issue.
