If, like many people, you suffer from an eye allergy (allergic conjunctivitis) you will know that it can be a frustrating and unpleasant experience.

As a direct result of your allergy, your eyes are probably feeling irritated. They may sting, you may experience excessive tearing, redness and swelling and you probably suffer from photophobia (light sensitivity).

Some allergens are seasonal, such as pollen and mould spores, but indoor allergens such as dust mites and pet dander can cause eye allergies year-round. They can be difficult to eradicate and are often aggravated during certain activities such as cleaning your house or grooming a pet.

What can you do to make your eyes feel better?

A simple, yet effective way to relieve allergic conjunctivitis, one which involves no medication, is to wear protective glasses that have gaskets which act as a barrier to stop the allergen entering your eye and causing an allergic reaction.

The range of protective glasses and sunglasses available through Eyewear Accessories do just that - they block airborne allergens. Normally as a direct result, symptoms of allergic conjuncitivitis subside rapidly and become manageable.

You can choose glasses and goggles from any of those in our 3 collections.

The premium products for allergy protection are 7eye AirShield and Ziena Eyewear. We also sell a cheaper range of products in the Body Specs brand.

For best results the glasses need to fit you closely

The key to success with blocking allergens effectively, and to provide relief for photophobia, is to find a model of our protective glasses that fits you best - all round your eye sockets.

That means the gasket should be in contact with your temples, along the eyebrow line and cheekbones The ideal fit is not a really tight one, but a comfortable, well balanced experience.
